BLACKBURN Rovers have been boosted by the return of star striker Jordan Rhodes for tonight’s crunch Championship clash at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Rhodes has missed Rovers’ last two matches with the ankle injury he sustained in the 1-1 draw at his former club Huddersfield Town.

But he has been declared fit enough to start this evening’s derby encounter by Gary Bowyer.

Rovers boss Bowyer has made three other changes to the side that started last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Adam Henley and Jason Lowe, who fell ill the night before the loss to the Seagulls, take the places of Tom Lawrence and Danny Guthrie.

Lawrence and Guthrie drop to the bench along with Fode Koita.

But there is no place among the substitutes for Hope Akpan.

He has been ruled out by a minor ankle injury and his place in the starting line-up has been taken by Corry Evans.

Bolton, who like Rovers are searching for their first win of the season, have made one change to the team that started their last-gasp 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

Former Rovers loanee Liam Feeney is in for Tom Walker.

Rovers: Raya, Henley, Duffy, Hanley, Spurr, Marshall, Lowe, Evans, Conway, Delfouneso, Rhodes. Subs: Steele, Kilgallon, Koita, Olsson, Lawrence, Guthrie, Barrow.

Bolton: Amos, Wilson, Dervite, Prince, Moxey, Davies, Danns, Feeney, Silva, Clough, Madine. Subs: Fitzsimons, Vela, Spearing, Heskey, Dobbie, Casado, Finney.
