A 33-YEAR-OLD man under pressure after starting a new job “snapped” when his partner refused to let him get an early night.
Blackburn magistrates heard how Thomas Swallow lashed out at his partner of 10 years and as she fell she struck a shelving unit which caused a double fracture of her jaw.

Swallow, of Lingmell Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to wounding Hannah Berry causing her grievous bodily harm. He was committed on bail to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Miss Berry had been drinking wine and Swallow had had a couple of beers.
Mike Garstang, defending, said his client had gone to bed prior to the incident because he wanted an early night due to his new job.
“Having gone to bed early she continually came into the bedroom,” he said. “Eventually he jumped up and delivered one blow.”
