Each week, a different crisis hits Justice City and Mahogany and Rust fight it out with their Justice City Police Department colleagues to solve the ‘case of the week’.

They must take on drug lords, mad scientists, evil twin brothers and retired science fiction actors.

Vickers plays the role of Christine Peacock, a computer hacker and cyber criminal who used to go to school with Mahogany.

Her character has never quite got over his cruel knock backs, and so decided to take down Justice City in her quest for vengeance.

Mr McGillicuddy and Mr Kinnear said: “We first came up with the idea for Top Coppers a few years ago and it’s been a labour of love for us ever since.

“We wanted to make something adventurous and exciting that takes you off into a whole different world, but at the heart of it, is still very, very British - with warm, endearing characters that you grow to love.

You can catch the next episode of Top Coppers on BBC from 10pm on Wednesday.
