TWO company bosses from Wilpshire have been disqualified as directors for five years after the collapse of a plant hire firm.

Brian Ingleby, 62, and Michael Holden, 68, were given the bans following the demise of Percliff in September 2011.

An investigation by the Insolvency Service found the pair, neighbours in Hollowhead Avenue, were £239,202 in arrears to HM Revenue and Customs when the company went under.

The inquiry discovered Percliff had ongoing debts to the taxman.

But in May 2011 the bosses arranged for a fixed charge to be made against its property holdings in favour of the associated company.

Percliff then sold machinery to the same outfit for £350,000, reducing the inter-firm debt but leaving a £70,000 VAT bill to pay.
