THREE would-be burglars have been caught in Burnley.
Residents on Rossendale Road called the police after the gang was spotted lurking in back gardens.
PC John Fisher, Trinity Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “On Wednesday morning a report was received that three males were acting in a suspicious manner in and around the back gardens of houses on Rossendale Road near to the junction with Cog Lane. Officers and a dog were deployed, with two males being quickly detained.

“Following a systematic search a third male was discovered and arrested.
“The Crown Prosecution Service has since secured charges on two of the males for ‘going equipped to steal’. The investigation continues.
“One of the offenders was also wanted on other matters.”
