Sgt Kim De Curtis, from Colne and West Craven Police, said: “Is this yours? Did you drop your Saturday night treat whilst running from the water bailiffs?

“We have it here for you at Colne Police Station. Please drop in at anytime to collect it – and bring an overnight bag for your free board and lodgings.

“We may even offer you ‘catch of the day’ off our lunchtime menu.

“Take your time and ‘mullet’ over your options.”
