IMAGES of stolen watches have been released by detectives investigating a robbery at a jewellers.

Officers were called shortly after noon on Monday, July 13, after receiving reports of a robbery at Humberstones Jewellers in King William Street, Blackburn.

Men got out of a red VW Golf and entered the shop, threatening staff and shoppers. The offenders were armed with bats and a machete and stole the contents of the safe and watches from the store before making off.

No one was injured during the incident.

The offenders fled in the VW Golf which was then found abandoned in Spring Bank Terrace, Blackburn, and transferred to a BMW which was traced to Bolton.

Two men, aged 27, have been charged in connection with the robbery and three men, aged 27, 31 and 32, were arrested and have been bailed pending further inquiries until September.

Detectives have now issued photographs of watches stolen in the raid in an attempt to trace them and are appealing to anyone who recognises them or has any information about the robbery to contact them.
