A PENSIONER from Clitheroe has been targeted by a gang of youths hurling eggs at her house.

Police officers in the Ribble Valley are investigating after receiving a number of reports of eggs being thrown around Clitheroe town centre last Saturday night. In one incident a car that was parked on the car park at Tesco was hit.

The second involved a group of youths who were stood in the grounds of Clitheroe Castle and threw numerous eggs at the 87-year-old’s property in Moor Lane.

A police spokesman said: “The 87-year-old lady who is currently unwell and lives alone at the address was visibly shaken and upset by the incident.
