Woodward, 52, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order. He was jailed for 26 weeks.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the restraining order imposed in June 2014 will not expire until June 2034. Woodward had already served two prison sentences for breaching the order.
Miss Allan said: “He has made his mother’s life a living hell. She told police that her son makes her ill. She had just come out of hospital and was extremely weak.”
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Woodward had not been abusive or threatening towards his mum but had asked for some money for a bus fare.
Mr Taylor said: “His main problem is a long-standing addiction to amphetamine which has had a long-term effect on his mental health.”
