A MAN who called police to complain he had been attacked ended up being arrested and spending a night in the cells.
Blackburn magistrates heard Mark Brannan, 46, carried on shouting and swearing after police arrived. Brannan, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, admitted being drunk and disorderly and was fined £50, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and a £150 court charge.
Colleen Dickinson-Jones said Brannan was attacked by a resident at Jays Properties. “If he hadn’t called police he wouldn’t have been arrested.”
