A TEENAGER who raided a man's home at night, stole his car and wrote it off, has been jailed for 27 months.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Jamie Fairclough, 19, was also involved in trouble outside a woman's Whitworth home.
The defendant, said to want to change his ways, was sent to a Young Offenders' Institution.
Sentencing, Judge Beverley Lunt said he had been given a community order three months before, had ignored it and had been on bail at the time of the offences.
Fairclough, of Eastgate, Whitworth, admitted burglary, taking a car without consent, and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Silvia Dacre, prosecuting, told the court last May, a disturbance had taken place outside the home of Delia Smith on Westgate.
Miss Dacre said the defendant was bailed and committed the burglary at Thorburn Drove, Whitworth, in the early hours in July. A £650 Mercedes was taken from the house and found written off.
