AN OPPORTUNIST burglar entered a Great Harwood house at night and stole a 42-inch television.
Blackburn magistrates heard the occupant, who had left the door open for a friend who was staying, was in bed at the time but was not disturbed.

Dylan Anthony Walmsley, 19, of Queen Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to burglary at a house in Prospect Street. He was sent to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said when the friend returned at 2.50 pm she found the door wide open.
Gareth Price, defending, said there was no evidence against his client but when he was ‘given a tug’ by the police and taken to the police station he admitted fully what he had done.
