A TASTE of life on the beach matched the holiday temperatures in landlocked Burnley at the weekend.
Supporters of Rosehill Baptist Church brought the seaside to East Lancashire as they imported a lorryload of sand and created their own lapping waters at Healey Grange, off Rosehill Road.

Church treasurer Eileen Cock said: “It is part of our children’s programme and we did something similar last year, which went down very well.”
Hot dogs and ice creams were also served up alongside cream teas, with a number of games lined up for youngsters.
The church runs a number of regular activities for youngsters, including a kids’ club, messy church and a youth group for 13 to 19-year-olds, with a musical focus.
Plans are also in place for the church’s annual fun day, which is supported by Calico and Lancashire County Councilon September 12.
