POLICE are hunting two men who are scamming bar staff in pubs.

The pair have played a sleight-of-hand trick when asking for change,- making off with at least £310.

MORE TOP STORIES:

The first incident took place at the Craven Heifer Inn, Pole Lane, Darwen, at 8.20pm on April 24 when a man walked away with £200.

The second incident took place at the Broadway Public House in Accrington at 2pm on May 15 when £110 was stolen.

PC Anna Gavela, of Eastern Division Planned Response, said: “On both occasions. The males have confused bar staff by asking for £20 notes to be changed for £10s, then apparently changed their minds and got their money back.

“However, afterwards, staff realised that the males had not returned all the money they had received in change, leaving them short.”

Both men are “olive-skinned, looking and sounding Eastern European”.

Police suspect they may be part of a gang working across Lancashire.
