BRITAIN’S Got Talent hopeful Ella Shaw visited her old school this week as she aims to secure a place in the live semi-finals tonight.

The 18-year-old wowed the judges in auditions with a stunning rendition of her own song Summertime, while playing piano.

Tonight’s episode of the hit talent show will see the four judges – Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden – whittle down the list of 200 acts they liked to 45 semi-finalists.

Ella, from Langho, is one of the favourites to win the show, so is likely to be put through to the live semi-finals, which take place from Monday to Friday, with the final on Sunday night.

And Ella’s new found fame was in evidence on Thursday when she returned to Holy Souls RC Primary School, in Wilworth Crescent, Blackburn, to speak to pupils.

Headteacher Danielle Ellison said: “It was lovely to see Ella back here. She was delightful with all the children.

“The children were really excited to see her. A lot of them recognised her. She spent time with the Key Stage Two children and also popped in to Key Stage One to wish them luck.”

Ella left Holy Souls to go to St Mary’s Primary School, in Langho, and then went to St Augustine’s High School, in Billington.

Mrs Ellison said: “She is very unassuming and very modest with her talent, and she is incredibly talented. The whole school will be watching and wishing her well for the rest of the competition.”

Ella received four yeses from the judges following her audition and got positive comments from all four, with Simon Cowell saying he thought she was ‘mega, mega talented’.

There was a slight doubt about the live shows, which are due to take place at Wembley Park, following the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb nearby but it was due to be moved yesterday.

However Britain’s Got Talent bosses hope the shows will be able to go ahead as planned.
