A BLACKBURN man who assaulted his former partner has been jailed after he breached a 10-year restraining order.

Raymond William Robinson, of Sapphire Street, was originally sentenced to 45 months in prison after he attacked Helen Bolton.

But Blackburn Magistrates’ Court heard how he started contacting his victim again shortly after his release on licence.

Robinson, 38, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and has been recalled to prison to serve the remainder of the sentence, as well as an additional 14 weeks imposed by the magistrates.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Robinson had called his former partner from different phones over a four-day period.

Miss Allan said: “She was scared of him and told police she thought he was capable of killing her.”

Damian Pickup, defending, said that since his release from prison, Robinson had been trying to get access to his daughter through various channels.

He said: “He was fighting a losing battle and became frustrated. He accepts that he will be going back to prison.”
