A 21-YEAR-OLD launched a ‘sustained and brutal’ attack on his girlfriend after forcing his way into her friend’s house.

Blackburn magistrates heard Rohaid Khan smashed a window to gain entry to the house and then opened the back door for another man to enter.

He then started to punch Nicole Townley repeatedly about the head and hit her about the head with a metal bracelet.

When the 5ft 4ins victim, went upstairs he followed and hit her again.

When she refused to give him the keys to the house he bit her hand to make her let go.

Khan, 21, of Fountain Street, Accrington, was convicted after trial of assault, criminal damage and using violence to secure entry to premises.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, made subject to community supervision for 12 months, ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work and pay £500 compensation to Miss Townley.

He was made subject to a restraining order which prohibits him from having any contact with her for two years.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said after the assault Khan snapped Miss Townley’s sim card in half so she couldn’t use her phone. It was two hours before he left the house.
