FIREFIGHTERS from Accrington were called to three grass fires on Tuesday.
Crews were sent to an area of land beside the railway line, between Huncoat and Altham, at around 6.30pm, where they found an embankment on fire. They were later called to the top of Plantation Street to a fire on the Coppice at around 7pm, and the top of Sandy Lane to the Coppice an hour later.
A spokesman said: “There was no access to the first one so there’s no way somebody could have done it.”
