THE official list of those standing to represent the Stroud constituency has been released.

Though, to many, it will come as no surprise, the seven prospective MPs for the Stroud District have been named by the district council.

Those competing for the main parties include David Drew, for Labour; Neil Carmichael, for the Conservatives; Caroline Stephens, for Ukip; Adrian Walker-Smith, for the Liberal Democrats; and Sarah Lunnon, for the Green Party.

The two others fighting for the seat are David Michael, of the Free Public Transport Party; and Rich Wilson, as an independent.

The General Election will be held on Thursday, May 7, between 7am and 10pm.
