A COFFEE morning to help raise money for a youngster struck down by a degenerative brain disease will be held on Saturday.
Nicholas Robinson, from Great Harwood, suffers from Alpers' Disease, a rare genetic disorder which causes the brain to kill off its cells, resulting in an increasing loss of skills and awareness.
Three-year-old Nicholas, who lives in Beech Road, was struck down by the illness at the age of two and is now unable to walk, talk or even smile.
The coffee norning, in aid of "The Nicholas Appeal", includes tombola, bring and buy stall, cake stall, games and bagpipers.
Hyndburn mayor Dr Mohamed Rahman will open the event at Great Harwood Cricket Club, Cliffe Lane, at 10am.
Admission is free and some of the proceeds will go to Derian House & The Rainbow Trust. Donations can be sent by cheque.
Additional information can be obtained on 01254 876625, 01254 885532 or http://thenicholasappeal. co.uk.
