RAMSBOTTOM Community Fire Station became an unlikely photo studio when a celebrity fashion designer turned up for a photoshoot.

Henry Holland, 31, was joined by a male model and crew for the shoot which formed part of the promotion for his new clothing campaign, which is set to launch in the summer and focuses on Henry’s hometown of Ramsbottom.

The designer chose the fire station in Stubbins Lane as one of the locations to shoot his quirky photos, which also featured Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s new fire kit.

Henry said: “Having grown up in Ramsbottom I wanted to go back to my hometown to shoot the photos for my new collection at well-known, traditional locations and the fire station was a perfect choice.

“It was really nice to meet the firefighters and the community staff, and to see the station being used by the local community .”

Henry and the team met some of the watch and members of Bury’s community safety team, including community safety advisor Bethany Pearson and Apprentice CSA Ruby Abbott – who both started their service careers as cadets at Ramsbottom.

Firefighter Andy Roberts and retained firefighter Ben Kirkham were also thrust into the limelight as they donned GMFRS’s new fire kit to take part in the shoot.

Henry added: “While there I met Bethany and Ruby and after hearing about GMFRS’ Community Fire Cadets scheme we decided to make a donation to the cadets as a token of thanks.”

The cadets are travelling to Poland in July to take part in the 20th International Youth Fire Fighters Gathering.
