PROSPECTIVE students are invited to look around Blackburn College’s £65m state-of-the-art campus and learn all about the courses available today.

The College are having an Open Event from 4.30 until 8pm, with a host of events in each of the departments to show the varied range of courses on offer.

Staff will be on hand at the £8.8m Beacon Centre to offer advice about the range of A Levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships, traineeships and adult courses available.

The dedicated £14m University Centre at Blackburn College will also be open on the night to showcase the wide range of degrees, foundation degrees, HNDs and HNCs, professional courses and access to higher education courses.

In addition the College’s new flagship buildings, the £7million Sir Bill Taylor Futures Building and the £5.5m Regional Automotive Technology Hub, will be opening doors for visitors.

Nicola Marsden-Clark, Students’ Union President, encouraged visitors to take a look at what’s available at Blackburn College.

“Years ago I was working in bars and told I wouldn’t amount to much in school. I wanted to set an example to my children that they should progress in education and needed to lead by example. I came to an Open Event and enrolled on an Access to Higher Education course. I now hold a BA (Hons) Social Science degree.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult, school leaver or just want to have a look around, Open Events at Blackburn College give you the opportunity to find out about the wide ranges of courses on offer. They also give access to specialist teaching and support staff.”

The College, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, serves more than 15,000 students of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and interests. The College is currently enjoying a 100% pass rate in 26 A Level subjects, 9 out of 10 graduates being in work or further study six months after graduation and over 100 vocational courses with 100% success.
