A MASKED, knife-wielding robber who went into a Clitheroe shop and demanded cash was recognised by the assistant - who was his ‘mother-in-law’.
Kyle Iveson, 24, of Gospel Lane, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to robbery at Thoroughgoods and theft of £675. He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court. The magistrates ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Mrs Brown was working in Thoroughgoods, on Hayhurst Street, when a man wearing a balaclava and carrying a knife came in and demanded the cash.
“She immediately recognised the defendant because he had been in a relationship with her daughter, who has a child with him,” said Miss Allan.
