The Ramsbottom designer’s latest House of Holland range was shown off by supermodels on a conveyor belt-style moving runway.

The “travelator,” complete with black and yellow hazard warning tape around the perimeter, allowed the models to stand still rather than show off their usual strut.

The stunt left spectators – including celebrities such as Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts and television presenter Alexa Chung – dazzled as the jaw-dropping display moved models around the room at the University of Westminster.

Other onlookers included DJ Nick Grimshaw, models Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe, singer Pixie Lott and Strictly Come Dancing winner Caroline Flack.

Mr Holland, famous for his work with Edenfield model Agyness Deyn, won praise from critics for the innovative introduction of his new wares.

Beauty writer Daisie Smith tweeted: “Henry Holland: you’re a legend. 1) for having Drake on your show playlist and 2) for having a travelator as your runway.”

Wonderland magazine said: “From baggy, brightly-pattered trousers and nostalgic schoolgirl tartan, to PVC, trimmed, chiffon shirts and dark, turquoise fur and leather looks, complete with statement hexagon glasses - tThis could well be one of Henry Holland’s most covetable collections to date.”

The 31-year-old, who attended Edenfield Primary School, landed his first job at Bailey’s Tea Shop in Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, before launched his label in 2008.
