DRIVERS heading north on the M6 have been warned that the northbound carriageway between junction 31 at Samlesbury and junction 32 will be closed overnight next week.

The carriageway will be closed from 9pm to 6am on Monday to Thursday and Saturday as the £7 million pinch-point widening improvement works near completion.

The closure will be in force from 10pm on Friday.

Overnight closures will also be in force the following week, from Tuesday to Friday, March 3 to 5, and on Wednesday and Thursday, northbound drivers will be diverted off the M6 at Junction 31 and can rejoin the northbound M6 at junction 32 via the A59, A5085, A6 and eastbound link road from the M55 onto the M6.

The northbound M6 will be closed from junction 32 on Sunday, March 1, Tuesday, March 10 and Saturday , March 14 between 9pm and 6am each night and drivers wishing to continue on the northbound M6 will be diverted west along the M55 to junction one at Broughton where they can join the eastbound M55 and the link road on to the northbound M6.
