A MOTORIST crashed a stolen car into a lamp post in Blackburn before fleeing on to a rooftop.
An investigation was launched after a blue Vauxhall Corsa was found abandoned in Preston Old Road at around 10.50pm on Sunday evening.

Police were later called to a house in nearby Moorgate Street, where a man was seen on a roof, a police spokesman said.
“Officers gained entry to the address to get him off at 1.30am,” he said. The spokes-man said police were treating the two incidents as linked.
Firefighters from Blackburn were also called out to the scene of the crash at 10.55pm after it was initially feared the car’s driver had been left trapped in the Corsa.
A spokesman said the car had hit a lamp post and possibly a tree before the driver ‘disappeared’ from the scene.
- A 25-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and was yesterday being quizzed by police.
