A MOTORIST who decided to drive the 100 yards home from a works Christmas party forgot to put his lights on and ended up being disqualified.
Joseph Martin Pentony, 34, of Leeds Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was fined £280 with £113 costs and banned from driving for three years.

The court heard a police officer who saw Pentony driving without lights flashed to remind him about his lights but stopped him when he failed to respond. Pentony refused to give a sample at the roadside or at the police station.
Imran Hussain, defending, said Pentony could easily have walked home but didn’t want to leave his car at outside the party venue.
“He is ashamed and genuinely remorseful,” said Mr Hussain.
