ROADS are to be closed in Blackburn to allow for a religious procession celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
The march will leave the Jamia Ghosia Mosque, in Chester Street, around noon on January 4 and take participants on a circular trip including Audley Range, Queen’s Park Road, Lincoln Road, St Clement Street, Temple Drive, Furthergate, Copy Nook and Higher Audley Street.
MORE TOP STORIES:
Chester Street will be closed from Audley Range to Strathclyde Road to all traffic from 11am to noon to allow those taking part to gather.
It is anticipated that each length of road on the route will only be closed for as long as necessary for the procession to pass. They will then be reopened. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
