EAST Lancashire residents are invited to attend a musical extravaganza next year.

Lytham Festival, a rebrand of Lytham Proms, will replicate last year’s crowd pleasing ‘80s V 90s’ themed night on Friday, August 7 at Lytham Green.

Topping the bill will be International R&B sensation Billy Ocean, followed by Chesney Hawkes, Jimmy Sommerville, East 17, Sinitta, 5ive and Vengaboys.

Other confirmed acts include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined by special guests Marti Pellow, Elaine Paige, Jonathan Antoine and Laura Wright who’ll take to the stage on Sunday, August 9.

Between them Pellow and Paige share credits for theatrical hits including Evita, Blood Brothers, Hair and Cats, few other singers are better qualified to so expertly celebrate the theme of ‘Songs from Stage and Screen’.

Earlier this summer Lytham Festival entertained a sell-out crowd of 50,000 fans with three nights of music at Lytham Green.

Marti Pellow said: "I'm just delighted to have been invited to perform on the last night of the Lytham Festival - it's going to be an amazing evening of some of my favourite songs of all time, it’s also a real privilege to be working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra again. I know we’re going to end up creating something very special that night."

Tickets starting at £32.50 are on sale now at www.lythamfestival.com or by calling the box office on 0844 888 0200.
