POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a two-car crash on the M65 eastbound last Friday.

A silver Toyota Yaris and a white Izuzu Grafter flat back were involved in the smash at around 11am on Friday 12 December between junction 7 and 8

A woman suffered three fractured vertebrae, a broken nose and also a fractured jaw.

The motorway was closed for around 30 minutes whilst the air ambulance attended the scene.

PC Dave Hurst of the Road Policing Unit said: “I would like to thank those who have already come forward and helped us with our enquiries but we are still keen to speak to any other motorists who may have witnessed what happened and could help us to establish exactly how this collision occurred.”
