Talent scout Eddie Evelyn-Hall, who works for SYCO Entertainment, attended on the night and will give the youngsters feedback on their performances, and potentially help them pursue their careers in the industry.

Among the hopefuls were Jack Herbert, a 19-year-old singer and former Unity College pupil, from Burnley. He said: "I came along for the chance to network really because it was a fantastic opportunity to meet people in the industry and get some feedback."

Jordan Richards, 21, a former X Factor contestant from Darwen, said: "I'm just hoping that something might come out of it, and it will be good to see what they think. Ideally I'd love to make a career out of singing. I got through tot the last 50 boys in the X Factor and that was great."

The event was held on Wednesday and was open to 16 to 25-year-olds.

The scouts were last in Lancashire in July, when Langho teenager Grace Davies impressed at an event in Lancaster.

She was subsequently invited to London for further talks with SYCO and has been selected to perform at the Platform Live venue in Soho.

Jack Bond, one of the organisers, said: "It was an amazing evening and will help build these guys up as artists and help make them more attractive to record companies."
