POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an Asian couple were racially abused in a Blackburn park.

The couple were approached by two men with three dogs in Queens Park at around 5pm yesterday.

The men were racially abusive towards the couple and it is reported threats were made with a knife before the couple managed to get away and leave the park unharmed.

The men are described as white and in their early 20s. They had two small white dogs and a larger black dog.

Inspector Nick Hodgeson said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young couple and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time who perhaps saw two men walking three dogs.”
