FANS of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing can have a go at learning some star moves at a new class based on the show.

FitSteps has been created by Strictly’s Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite and aims to be fun whilst also being a good form of fitness.

The class, which takes place each Thursday at the ACE Centre in Cross Street, Nelson mixes ballroom and Latin steps with fitness routines.

The dancing duo came up with the idea whilst taking part in training sessions last year. The idea is to mix the graceful steps of ballroom and the up-tempo beat of the Latin dances to create a really fun, energetic and effective way to stay fit that would appeal to all ages.

The programme is based around 12 of the most popular Latin and ballroom dances, including jive, cha-cha, samba, tango, waltz and quickstep. The dances are broken down into easily learnable sections with varying levels of effort to suit people of all ages and levels of fitness.

No previous experience is necessary and partners are not required.

The classes are £4.70 to attend and run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. No need to book just turn up.
