Working in association with regional delivery partners Culturapedia, somewhereto_ will be co-hosting an evening of workshops and open auditions in Blackburn with SYCO Entertainment, giving local undiscovered talent the opportunity to meet with industry professionals.

somewhereto_ is a UK wide youth project funded by a £7m grant from the Big Lottery Fund to support its nationwide expansion to 2016.

Helping 16-25 year olds access free spaces in their communities, to launch and develop creative and enterprising projects.

Open to 16-25 year olds, on Wednesday, December 3 2014 from 4pm – 9pm somewhereto_ in association with SYCO Entertainment will co-host workshops and auditions at the St John’s Centre in Victoria Street, Blackburn, to help young people develop key industry skills.

Top Talent Producers at SYCO Entertainment, are donating their free time and expertise to as industry mentors, offering advice and insight to young people pursuing careers in entertainment.

Whether their talent is singing, dancing, playing instruments or juggling objects, the day is designed to help young people establish best practices, boost confidence and develop artist evolution.

Local young people are invited to submit interest at northwest@somewhereto.com where they can sign up to the workshop and be given the incredible chance to perform in front of professional talent scouts.

SYCO were last in Lancashire during the summer of somewhereto_ festival in Lancaster in July, when two performers in particular caught the eye of talent scout Eddie Evelyn-Hall.

Grace Davies, 17, from Langho and Lancaster band SCHØØLTRIP were subsequently invited down to London for further talks with SYCO and have both been selected to perform at ‘Platform Live’ in Soho.

Speaking after her SYCO performance, and ahead of the upcoming workshops, Grace Davies took time out to talk about what it meant to her:

“The experience was incredible and it has brought me so many amazing opportunities, including going to London to speak with Eddie and others again and being put on "Platform Live" in November 2014, supported by Sony Music.

"The opportunity was amazing and I would recommend any solo artist or group in the local area to go along in December.”
