JAKE Berry MP has welcomed more than £100,000 in National Lottery grants to organisations in his Rossendale and Darwen constituency.
Since April 2014, the Big Lottery Fund has awarded £103,749 to 11 projects in the area – including £8,910 to Rossendale Rays Special Needs Club and £10,000 to Turncroft Nursery School in Darwen.
Mr Berry said: “I’m really pleased that the Big Lottery Fund is recognising the amazing work done by volunteers in our community.
“These grants help fund vital projects that make a massive difference to the lives of people across Rossendale and Darwen.
“This includes getting more people involved in sport and providing exciting learning opportunities for our children.
“I would urge anyone involved in a local organisation that would benefit from funding to get in touch.”
Several community projects have benefited significantly from receiving Big Lottery Fund grants.
