Lancashire Telegraph: Diana Vickers has landed a role in a West End play

Others from the area to have benefitted from SYCO include Blackburn's Diana Vickers who appeared on the X Factor and Pendle's Britain's Got Talent stars The Cheeky Monkeys.

The St John's Centre in Victoria Street will host the event from 4pm to 9pm on Wednesday, December 3.

It has been organised by SYCO Entertainment in association with Somewhereto_, a UK-wide youth project by Livity funding by a £7m grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

It's open to 16-25 year olds and the day is designed to help young people establish best practices, boost confidence and develop artist evolution.

SYCO were last in Lancashire during the summer where a performer from the Ribble Valley caught the eye of talent scout Eddie Evelyn-Hall in Lancaster.

Grace Davies, 17, from Langho was invited down to London for further talks with SYCO and is set to perform at 'Platform Live' in Soho.

Grace said: "The experience was incredible and it has brought me so many amazing opportunities, including going to London to speak with Eddie and others again and being put on 'Platform Live' in November 2014, supported by Sony Music.

"The opportunity was amazing and I would recommend any solo artist or group in the local area to go along in December."

Pete Compston, regional delivery partner for somewhereto_ in the North West, said: "The last time we collaborated with SYCO, it was a hugely rewarding experience for all the performers and the feedback they received was really constructive.

"It’s a great opportunity and we’re delighted Grace has agreed to come along too and support the event, having benefited from it herself in the past."
