PEOPLE living in Waterside, Hoddlesden and Oakdale can take advantage of a new fast broadband service.
Residents had complained about internet speeds in the area, which had suffered from some of the slowest speeds in the country, but after being approached by Darwen MP Jake Berry, local firm Wave Internet put up a dedicated mast to provide faster broadband.

Mr Berry said: "Slow internet is the number one complaint I hear from people in Oakdale and it was clear from the results of my Big Broadband Survey earlier this year that Oakdale has one of the slowest connections across my constituency.
“That’s why I approached Wave Internet to ask if there was anything they could do to help.
"A fast internet connection is vital for so many families and businesses and I’m delighted that Wave could help.”
Neil Ainsworth, director of Wave Internet, said: "Jake asked if we could do anything for everyone struggling to access the internet in Oakdale, Waterside and Hoddlesden so we have set up dedicated mast to beam high speed internet across the area.
“As a local company we're really pleased to help.
"We know only too well how frustrating it is to battle with slow internet connections."
