A CLAYTON-le-Moors nursery has again been labelled as 'good' by education watchdog Ofsted.

Inspector Nicola Norton said teaching at First Class Childcase Clayton, which cares for 62 children between the ages of three months and eight years, was 'good and, in some cases, very good'.

She said: " This means that all children, irrespective of their starting points, make good progress in all areas of learning, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language."

She also said the children and staff enjoy a warm relationship, know each other well, and that effective safeguarding policies are in place.

To bump the Pickup Street nursery's rating to 'outstanding' at the next inspection, Nicola said children should be given more time to respond to questions, and babies should be given more opportunities to 'explore, be challenged, and investigate natural resources in the indoor environment'.
