HALLOWE’EN fans looking to take part in some spooky activities in East Lancashire this week won’t be left at a ‘dead end’.

Numerous activities will be held at a variety of ‘fang clubs’ as venues vie to attact revellers this All Hallows Eve.

At St John’s Church, in Victoria Street, Blackburn, A Carnival of Curiosities will host a ball, with live music, DJs, performers, stalls, themed bars, and a 16-piece zombie band from 8pm until 3am.

Children are invited to take their own torches to spot the witches as night falls in the museum at Clitheroe Castle, from 5pm until 6.30pm on Friday. Earlier, from 11am until 3pm, the Mad Monk will be in the museum to tell stories for all ages.

A family party will also be held at Darwen’s Wellybobs Farm from 7pm until 11pm. There will be a licenced bar and disco, prizes for the best costumes, and fun and games.

Throughout the afternoon, crafts and a trick-or-treat trail will be held at Queen Street Mill Textile Museum, in Harle Syke, Burnley. Visitors can make their own costume and enter a ‘Hex Factor’ compe-tition, between noon and 5pm.

And from 5.30pm until 8pm at Samlesbury Hall, ‘Janey’s Witchy Walk-through’ will see guests minding the cobwebs for an interactive walk-through and quiz at the reputedly haunted hall.

At Oswaldtwistle Mills, kids can go to a monster ball from 2.30pm until 4.30pm. As well as a disco, fun and games, there will be a scariest outfit competition, and free hot meal.

Terror tours will also be held at Gawthorpe Hall, in Padiham, from 7pm until 9pm, where guests are advised to take a torch. The Horse and Bamboo Theatre in Waterfoot will host its annual Skeleton’s Ball from 6pm until 8pm, with apple-bobbing, crafts and face-painting.

And at The Spread Eagle in Sawley, local band Midlife will play, there will be a spooky walk to Sawley Abbey, and food. A five-course meal will be served at a masq-uerade ball at Burnley Mechanics, in Manchester Road, Burnley, and the Waves Water Fun Centre, in Nab Lane, Blackburn, will host a disco from 6pm until 9pm.

An adapted perfor-mance of Roald Dahl’s The Witches will be held at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Black-burn from 7pm.

And Helmshore Mills Textile Mus-eum, from 6pm until 8pm, is holding its Addams Family party.
