A YOUNG interior design specialist from Pendle is determined to help fellow creative types get ahead with a new showcase.

Live Like the Boy’s Ashley Sutcliffe has launched an initiative to promote the works, month by month, of a different designer or partnership, from his shop in Church Street, Colne.

In a short space of time, he himself has graduated from premises in Shackleton Hall to the high street and he’s eager to introduce new names to his clientele.

Ashley said: “Each month I am inviting a designer to have their work in my shop so they can show and sell their work to the people of Colne.

“It’s free of charge, with no commission, just a way for me as a retailer to support designers.”

His first choice has been Parris Wakefield Additions, run by Norfolk-based designers Howard Wakefield and Sarah Parris.

Ashley first came across the pair’s creations online and was even more impressed when he unwrapped the packaging surrounding their cushions and lampshades.

He added: “This is a textiles collection for the unafraid, the brave and the bold.

“It us unashamedly colourful and yet it is incredibly easy to live with and love.”

The Diss pairing’s latest line – Chance – has diverse inspirations, from the peeling paint on Ipswich docks to the ‘squeegee’ paintings of Gerhard Richter.
