A MAN who died after suffering fatal injuries at a house in Blackburn was stabbed, murder probe police have confirmed.

Officers yesterday confirmed that 29-year-old Bilal Saddique died from a single stab wound to his left leg.

Mr Saddique was taken by ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital after emergency services were called to a house in Revidge Road, close to the junction of Preston New Road.

He passed away shortly after in hospital.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday night in relation to the incident. Yesterday officers successfully applied to Blackburn Magistrates Court for extra time to question her.

Friends and neighbours said that the woman and Mr Saddique had been in a relationship.

Yesterday male friends and relatives gathered to mourn Mr Saddique at the Jamia Ghosia Mosque in Chester Street, and female friends and family came together at his family home in Dundee Drive, in the Audley area.

Close friends and relatives yesterday paid tribute to former Beardwood School pupil Mr Saddique, who worked for BT in Blackburn town centre.

Family members issued a joint statement describing him as a trusted adviser who was ‘loyal’ and ‘intelligent’.

They said: “Bilal was loved very much by his family, and always did right be them.

“He was loyal and very intelligent. He guided the family and was our adviser.

“He will be greatly missed. However, he is flying high with the angels now.”
Members of his family added Mr Saddique would be remembered by those who knew him as a man who always had a smile on his face.

His close friend Fazul added: “No words can describe the loss.

“He had such a smile, and a great heart. He was one of the best people you could meet.

“He will be truly missed.”

Friends on Facebook also offered their condolences following Mr Saddique’s death.

Emran Bahadur said: “A very top lad, saw him every day. Head down, went about his own way.”

And Mohammed Nadat Ameen said: “Allah grant him jannah and give his family sabar. Top lad man, good friend.”

Khal Esat added: “So sad to hear, may Allah grant him junnah and give his family sabar.”

Yesterday Lancashire Police said that the 19-year-old woman remained under arrest on suspicion of murder, and was still in police custody.

Specialist crime scene investigation officers from Lancashire Police were also still at the scene in Revidge Road carrying out further inquiries.
