A PET charity is asking East Lancashire animal lovers to nominate their favourite veterinary nurse for an award.

The Blue Cross is seeking the Veterinary Nurse of the Year 2014 to recognise their dedication and support for pet owners. The award will be presented at the British Veterinary Nursing Association annual congress from October 10 to 12 in Telford, Shropshire.

Caroline Reay, Blue Cross chief veterinary surgeon, said: “Blue Cross has been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets for over 100 years and our award recognises the hard work and commitment of vet nurses across the UK.

“They face daily challenges and compassion is a key element when dealing with an owner’s beloved pet, particularly when they are very sick.”

To make a nomination, visit www.bluecross.org.uk/ BVNA2014 or contact Sally Leathem on 01993 825577.

The deadline for nominations is September 5.
