A YUMMY mummy from Blackburn is vying to win a national beauty contest after wowing judges in an online competition.
Alexandra Thomas was recently crowned Miss Beauty of Blackburn and will now compete in a pageant in Chorley later this year for the title of Miss Beauty of the UK.
If the 19-year-old mum-of-one, from Fore Street, Lower Darwen, goes on to win, she will travel to Spain to challenge for the World crown.
Alexandra, who lives with son Leon, two, and partner Jack Berry, 19, said: “I think this could be the start of a new career and I believe, if I win Miss World, I would win some money, which would be good financially for me and my son.
“I’d like to win to show that people who have children they can still win.”
Alexandra is due to strut her stuff in a swimsuit and gown, at the Park Hall Hotel on October 19.
As part of the competition, she will also raise money for the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity, which grants the wishes of youngsters with serious or life-threatening injuries.
