A JEALOUS sales operative changed his partner’s sickness email to her boss, telling him she wasn’t going in work because she was a horrible cheat, a court heard.

Apprentice Ryan James Simpson, 21, then grabbed Natasha Curran around the neck and wrecked her £250 Netbook, saying: “You deserve it. It’s all your fault. The damage to the computer is nothing to what you have done”, Bunrley magistrates heard.

They were told the short relationship between the pair had been coming to an end when Simpson’s outburst took place on July 11.

Prosecutors said Ms Curran described Simpson as volatile and unpredictable.

The hearing was told by the defendant’s solicitor Simpson had been diagnosed with XYY syndrome (a chromosomal condition) which causes symptoms including emotional difficulties.

Simpson, of Victoria Road, Padiham, admitted assault by beating and criminal damage at Burnley. He was given an 18-month conditional discharge and must pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Alex Mann, prosecuting, said Simpson and the victim, 20, had been together 10 months and problems started because he didn’t trust her.

The defendant, who took medication for depression, became more jealous and controlling, the court heard.

Prosecutors said they had not been getting on and the victim went on her Netbook to email her employer and tell him she didn’t feel fit enough to go into work. She went to the bathroom. Simpson read it and instead typed: “I’m not coming into work because I am a horrible, cheating whore.”

He checked her Facebook messages, there was a tussle over an Xbox and a rucksack and Simpson, struggling to take the rucksack from her, grabbed her around the neck.

Mark Williams, for Simpson, said: “His father believes he reacted in the way he did partly because of his condition and partly because he had been very down.”
