A SEVEN-year-old is on her way to stardom after being selected to join Britain’s newest children’s pop group.

Lilly-May Austin, who lives in Thames Avenue, Burnley, was nominated by her mum to join Wacky Warehouse’s Little Singers.

The St James Lanehead pupil will join seven other tiny talents in recording the first official Wacky song.

The tune, due for release in September, will be heard by thousands of kids up and down the country when they visit any of the 77 soft play centres.

The CD will also be given out in party bags at Wacky birthday parties.

Mum Sarah-May Austin, 26, said: “Lilly-May sings from the moment she wakes to the moment she goes to bed.

"She has microphones all over the house and loves to do performances in front of friends and family, so this would be her dream.

“She’s been singing since she was little. She’s always singing all sorts of things. She just loves singing.“She’s really excited, so I’m so happy for her, and we’re very proud of her.

“She was asking if she could go on Britain’s Got Talent, but we missed the cut-off point, so we’re hoping that she’ll go on it the year after.”

Sarah-May said her daughter didn’t know she had been entered into the competition until she was told she had won. Sarah-May said: “I hadn’t even told her that I’d entered her.”

Lilly-May has also won unlimited entry into Wacky Warehouse for a year and a free meal at the Hollywood Star on Manchester Road.

Christopher Stubbs, general manager of the Hollywood Star, said: “We’re really pleased that a Little Singer has been found in Burnley. I can’t wait to hear the results.”
