A HEADTEACHER is celebrating recognition of his school’s top ratings.

Haslingden High headteacher Mark Jackson was told his school had made the top 100 for exam results earlier this year.

Now months after receiving a congratulatory letter from Minister of State for Schools David Laws MP, the information has also been published by Ofsted in their Data Dashboard.

Mr Jackson said the school’s success over the past three years was now available for any Google user to view in his end of term letter to parents.

He said: “We have had another extremely busy and highly successful year and, as always, there is much to celebrate.

“In the spring term letter I referred to national recognition for our outstanding examination results: receiving a letter from David Laws. Since then we have been notified that our A2 results also placed us in the top 100 comprehensive schools in England for the first time.

“The Data Dashboard is a government initiated document that provides a parent friendly analysis of a school’s performance over three years. You may find them useful to compare the performance of one school with another.

“However, I passionately believe that great schools offer opportunities for all students in different ways, not just academically. I am delighted that we have also have had a record number of trips, visits, clubs and activities during the year.”
