A DRINK-DRIVER caught on a petrol station was on his way to get more alcohol, Burnley magistrates heard.
Butcher Eugenijus Valancius, 51, was spotted reversing into another vehicle by police at 11.20pm.
A test showed he had 96 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood — the legal limit is 80.
Valancius, of Larch Street, Nelson, works at Woodhead Bros at Colne. He admitted driving with excess alcohol on the Shell Petrol Station, Manchester Road, Nelson, on January 11.
Valancius was fined £250, with £85 costs and a £25 victim surcharge and was banned for 14 months.
Graeme Tindall, for the defendant, said he had had two cans of beer with friends and was driving to the off-licence to get more.
He didn't particularly feel any ill-effects of the alcohol and thought he would be OK, being of large build.
