CHLOE Young looks with envy at her friend Olivia Howarth’s hair — but has no regrets.

The 14-year-old’s mane was as long as Olivia’s but decided to shave hers off for Cancer Research and for the Princess Foundation, where hair is used for wigs.

And the student of Alder Grange Community and Technology School, Rawtenstall, doesn’t mind that she will not have long flowing locks during the summer as she knows it has all gone to good use.

“Cancer has touched my family as my grandma and step grandma have both had it and survived and my auntie is currently going through it,” said Chloe, who lives in Bury Road in Rawtenstall.“As I had my hair shaved off, I was nervous and crying but I couldn’t be sad as it was going to be used for a good cause. I have raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research.”
