A ‘LOVELY’ mum-of-two has died just weeks after being told she had cancer.

Tributes have been paid to Amanda McFarlane, from Darwen, who was taken to hospital last month with a ‘tremendous pain’ in her chest.

An aggressive cancer, thought to have started in her breast, had spread into her spine and bones, and the 38-year-old was deemed to be too weak to have chemotherapy.

She died in hospital a few weeks later and her funeral was at Pleasington Crematorium on Friday.

Her mum Annette Fenton, 60, said: “The whole family are absolutely devastated. She was such a lovely, lively girl and we all loved her so much.

“She loved her friends and absolutely adored her children. It all happened so suddenly and I can’t get my head around it.

“She may have had this cancer a long time but her health really deteriorated in the last couple of months and she lost three stone in about five weeks.

“But she wasn’t one to see the doctor easily or to make a fuss.

“I can’t fault the hospital doctors or the staff for the tremendous care they gave her when she was rushed to the Royal Blackburn.”

Amanda, who went to the former Darwen Moreland High School, lived in Ribble Avenue with her partner Kenny.

She also leaves her children Blake, 19, and Naomi, 16, brother Stephen, and dad Robert.
