PARENTS of children at Lancashire County Council schools have been told to start thinking about next year’s travel arrangements.

They have been urged to act now over reminders about financial help towards the cost of transport for pupils transferring to secondary school.

They have asked to send the application form back to county bosses by 11 July to guarantee new passes are received for the start of the new term.

Anyone who thinks their child may be entitled to help with travel costs when they start secondary school, and who has not received an application form, should contact the School Traveline on 0300 123 6738.

Primary school pupils in years 1-6 and secondary schools students in years 8 to 11 who received help with transport last year, and whose circumstances have not changed, will receive their passes shortly after the end of July.

Pupils attending secondary schools and moving into the sixth form are not entitled to assistance.
